Education Week 2025- Thank you
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us for Education Week 2025! Your participation made our open day a resounding success, and we are thrilled to have welcomed such a large number of our community into our school. As you are aware, the 2025 theme is ‘Ignite your potential’ and on Wednesday we came together and celebrate the strength, diversity and achievements of Wentworth Point Public School and NSW public education — where every student is supported to learn, grow and thrive.
The classroom visits provided a wonderful opportunity for families to engage with our students and witness the fantastic learning that takes place every day. It was inspiring to see the curiosity and enthusiasm of our students as they showcased their work.
Our Playground Club exhibition was a highlight, allowing our students to share their creativity and teamwork in a vibrant, fun-filled environment. The artwork displayed in our WPPS Art Gallery Exhibition truly captured the talent and imagination of our students, and it was wonderful to see so many visitors appreciating their efforts.
The performances from our dance groups and choir were nothing short of spectacular. The energy and passion displayed by our students filled the air with a sense of joy and pride, showcasing the diverse talents within our community.
Your support during this event not only highlighted the importance of education but also fostered a strong sense of belonging among our students, staff, and families. It is this community spirit that makes our school a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Thank you once again for being part of Education Week 2025. Keep an eye on our mural where we have invited our community to share inspiring messages. If you have a message of encouragement or inspiration for the children of WPPS, please share with us by clicking on the link and leaving a message for inspiring message. The link can be found here
We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate our achievements together in the future!

The Rabbits in Writing
The Rabbits have been learning to sequence events in their writing this week. Students listened to our focus text and together recalled the beginning, middle and end of the story. They then used words like first, next, and then to create simple sentences that recounted the text. We can’t wait to see what they write next!

Chimpanzees are learning all about arrays in Maths!
This week, our clever Chimpanzees have been exploring the world of arrays. Using counters, drawings, and everyday objects, they’ve been creating neat rows and columns to represent multiplication. Through hands-on activities and group tasks, they’ve discovered how arrays help us count faster and see patterns in numbers.
We’ve also been learning how to divide these arrays into equal groups to better understand division. The Chimpanzees have shown great teamwork and problem-solving as they broke arrays into equal parts and explained their thinking. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they connect multiplication and division in such a meaningful way!

Messages from P&C Association
P&C Association is a group of volunteers who are parents at the school and members of the local community who want to support the school. The group is committed to supporting and working with the principal and staff to improve the learning experiences of all children. P&C holds meetings once every term of school. It is an informal gathering of parents, citizens, and some staff members where current and future plans for the school are discussed, and how P&C can work together to support and drive common interests related to the school. Members of the P&C committee provide updates and discuss ways to develop and build on a sense of belonging and connection.
